Become a member

It only costs $10 annually to become a member of the Canadian Council of the Blind.

The CCB is Canada’s largest consumer group for blind and vision-impaired people. To do our important advocacy work to the government, business, and other organizations on behalf of this vision-impaired community, it is essential to demonstrate an extensive, stable membership list. We welcome both sighted and vision-impaired individuals to become members of our community. Join us as a new or renewed member to lend your name as Canada’s voice of the blind.

Becoming A CCB Member - What's in it for you?

There are so many benefits to becoming a CCB Member!

Help With Your Technology:

Take advantage of the Get Together with Technology group, as well as personalized help for all assistive technology devices.

Stay Informed:

Being a CCB member will help you stay informed both nationally and provincially via newsletters, the CCB website, and through committee sharing. From research, fundraising, to advocacy, there is always something exciting happening.

Board and Committee Access:

Our National Board and Committees are a great place to share your ideas, suggestions, and concerns. All twelve board members have vision loss or blindness. We represent the vision loss community in Federal, provincial, and international issues, advocating for the rights of people with vision loss.

All members are given the option to vote in the National president and Board.

The national office aims to support each chapter in whatever way it can.

Events:

White Cane Week celebrations, promotional materials, and a $100.00 bursary for each chapter participating.

Every year CCB National sponsors a blind curling championship.

Two conferences are held each year – and are open to all CCB members in person or virtually at their own expense.

Insurance for all members and volunteers who are actively participating in events and activities.
