The Canadian Council of the Blind

Based on Belief and Ability, not disability, the Canadian Council of the Blind (CCB) is a vibrant network of people with vision loss who are active in local Chapters across Canada. The National office is based out of Ottawa. The council is governed by its members. All members of the National Board of Directors are people with vision loss.

Canadian National Institute of the Blind

With support from the CNIB we have developed a partnership within our peer groups where the CCB Peterborough Chapter offers additional peer support beyond the CNIB programs. The CNIB/VLR (Vision Loss Rehabilitation) are community based services that empower Canadians who are blind or partially sighted, not just to live independently - but to see beyond vision loss.

TandemEyes is a cycling club that facilitates individuals with partial or total vision loss in their pursuit of cycling. We provide tandem bikes, on which the person with vision loss works with a captain to ride their way along trails and streets. This desire to share helps all our members stay happy and healthy in the great outdoors.
